Buckley's red card rescinded

Dr Crokes' Johnny Buckley is sent off by Sean Hurson during the All-Ireland club SFC semi-final against Mullinalaghta

Dr Crokes midfielder Johnny Buckley has had the controversial red card he was shown in the All-Ireland semi-final against Mullinalaghta rescinded.

The former county player received his marching orders from referee Sean Hurson for an off-the-ball incident involving Aidan McElligott during the Kerry kingpins' 0-18 to 2-7 win over the Longford surprise packets at Semple Stadium two weeks ago.

However, the Killarney club have won their appeal against Buckley's dismissal following a meeting with the Central Hearings Committee (CHC) tonight.

It means Buckley will be eligible to face holders Corofin in the Andy Merrigan Cup decider on St Patrick’s Day.
