Leitrim's hopes of progressing to the next round of the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers has been severely dented by a mass exodus of players from the squad.
Since the defeat to Roscommon in the Connacht SFC semi-final, the Leitrim Observer reports that up to six players have left the squad.
Any county would feel the effects of so many players leaving a squad in such a short period of time, but for Leitrim who are working with a far smaller pool of players, it is sure to have a bigger effect.
This means, they will take to the field against Louth in their qualifier clash at Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada very much understrength.
The Observer states that Oisin Madden and Mark Plunkett left for the US in the week after the defeat to the Rossies, while top-scorer Keith Beirne has also headed stateside in recent weeks.
It is also alleged that Ronan Kennedy, Keith Keegan and Colm Moreton have left the squad in recent weeks.
