Nowlan Park will not be lit up anytime soon according to the Kilkenny County Board.

Plans for the next phase of development work for Nowlan Park are being drawn up, but they do not include the installation of floodlights.

A number of counties now have state of the art floodlighting systems at their county grounds, but Kilkenny have no plans to follow suit.

However, it is believed that they may do so down the line. For the time, a state of the art gym will be constructed at the Dunmore training centre, while there will be a second set of floodlights installed on the training pitch at the same venue.

Work at Nowlan Park will see the drainage system on the pitch upgraded and new ticket sales booths on the Hebron road side of the grounds. Broadcasting facilities are also being up upgraded at present.
