They're screwed this year for sure as their ladies have been knocked out!

Well at least Donegal didn't have to rely on intimidation of the referee. Won fair and square. Awful pity ye can't say the same.
No class.

Hope they don't do the same this year as they will be 2 weeks late

The crazy thing about this is that O Brien was black carded in a game Kerry had to win cause they won handy there's no outrage but it's not good enough a player is black carded for that in a big game , that could of been a much bigger deal if Kerry lost that game and shows that refs are guessing on a lot of big calls and then players getting the line for nothing. It's why imo a black card should be got rid of.

Great news for Kerry, not sure about anyone else. Did anyone ever doubt he would not be cleared.

Can't believe some halfwit(s) gave that thumbs down. Happy for SOB. Massive occasion. To lose out to a (poor) black card would be travesty. Not interested in whataboutery.

Dublin will want to play best you've got. See what happens on day. Confident they'll have enough in tank.

It's actually great that it has been done and dusted early leaving him, and everyone, time to properly prepare for the final.

Talked with a mate of mine about the Gough appointment and he made 2 good points. .

1. There isn't an Ulster of Connaught referee who has the required experience to referee such a massive game.

2. Of the other leading candidates, all have had a helping hand in Dublin winning all irelands to date:
Lane not penalizing Bastick's pick-up in 2016 drawn game
Deegan black carding Keegan in replay
Coldrick not giving Donaghy penalty in 2015
And Joe. I could write an essay.
So Kerry would've had reason to feel aggrieved no matter who was appointed.

Has any player actually been suspended for a game for 3 black cards? The majority of them seem to get off on appeal, just shows how many are wrongly black carded!
Also if the cavanagh dragdown on mcmanus happened today there would be no consequence for him, black card ain't much of a deterrent is it!

Yeah over by the children's section

You might spot a few of the Kerry team in buying their new school uniforms"
The Kerry team might be young but that is ridiculous.

Kerry have done themselves no favours...as if they win people will question every referring decision that went for them saying their cynical approach helped sway Gough. And when O'Brien takes a dive to win a free3that was pointed in a tight match the same.

Even Keane's Yerra approach has people saying it's over the top.

Kerry's game management into the Final poor so far.

Given all of the precedents that have been set over the years O'Brien was always getting off, any other player in the same situation would have too.

People lose their minds over the ref after every Kerry match regardless so I don't think that will overly concern anybody in the camp

Once the ball is thrown in I doubt any of this stuff will matter.

Good news on Stephen, has had a superb year, you want to be playing against the best players and the best team the opposition can put out. It's what competitive sport is all about.

The Stephen O Brien match up will be interesting, id be half tempted to put Jack on him, as per Gooch and Philly see can we wear him out and empty the tank first half chasing back.

Neither did Donegal get rid of the appointed referee as Dublin did in 2007. Leinster final Dublin v Laois. Hypocrisy is it?

Good to see O'Brien clear to play

Also funny to see the ridiculous and hysterical tin foil hat predictions of certain posters being exposed for what they are.

I was thinking about that they would probably cancel each other out to an extent? McCaffery is such a weapon going forward I don't see who we have that can nullify him otherwise but we don't want Stephen stuck to a man marking job either. It'll be interesting to see who pairs up with who once the game starts.

Dublin by 6, I expect this Kerry team to give Dublin a good game for most of the 70 mins with Dublin pulling away in the last 10 or 15. Kerry will be up for the final, its a massive occasion with a first AI final for a few boys but experience and quality will prove too much in the end.

I believe that with the class and potential in this Kerry team, they will be the team to put an end to Dublins streak, just not this year.
