Replying To clondalkindub:  "Fair play to Cork made it a great battle in the end love their number 7 , Kerry were still very good imo Clifford is class I'm going to repeat what I said last year but if Kerry get Geaney and O Donoghue back to their best Kerry can beat anyone."
Cheers Clon Kerry have a good bit to work on obviously. I'd be surprised if we are that naive defensively in the Super 8's but whether it will be enough to get out of the group we will have to wait and see. Very much a work in progress.

Perfect game for Kerry. Finally get a half-decent challenge from Cork which highlights the areas in their game that need improving before the business end of the championship, and allows them to go into full-on stage 5 yerra mode which is when Kerry are at their most dangerous.

Another 15 point hammering of Cork would have been a nightmare scenario for them!

That's fair comment I suppose all things being considered I'd say Kerry will be waiting in the long grass and can only improve after that test.
Cork did better than many though and they'll cause problems for any team. Kerry probably getting the rub in the end and on the handier side of the fixtures. Sure we'll see what comes of it soon enough.

Gerry I ment to post the other night during the game when I seen Burns coming on from Crokes thinking where was Brosnan and Shaw the two Crokes corner forward's? Their lethal , now I know Kerry are not short on forward's but any team would want them two playing no?

There are rumours that Shaw is doing very well in training but despite his height he is on the light side imo and needs to bulk up. Serious prospect though and I'd expect to see him during the league next year if Crokes are not on another club run. He was at an advanced stage with AFL trials a while back and we all presumed he would be jetting off for Aus but it doesn't look like he is going at this stage for whatever reason.

I don't know why Brosnan is not there most people including myself would have him ahead of Killian Spillane at this stage.

Anyone think our forward line may be a bit over rated at this stage.
On form we have the top 3 in the country...Geaney , Clifford and O Donoghue
But, Geaney and O Donoghue havent been on form for several seasons now.

Would love to see if Brosnan and Shaw are up to it but hardly get the chance now coming into the Sup 8's.

Jod looked back to his old self against Clare actually taking on his marker getting fouled an winning frees before his injury so I'd have hope for him if he can get fit.

I'm just hoping paul is timing his run for the 8s

I suppose the lack of any decent forwards outside of DC JOD and PG means there is no pressure on PG to perform to his best as he knows he'll always get picked.

No doubt Shaw and Brosnan are class but tony has no interest in intercounty football and is enjoying his life and playing for his club.

Ok KingdomBoy i thought he was in training with Kerry.
Besides him , its sad to see our best keeper is also not in the squad

Shaw is in training and doing well by all accounts but it'l be the league before we see him I'd say.

Also I wouldn't count the kilcummin man as our best keeper but I would have him as our second behind Ryan.

Ideal for Kerry this year, have gotten two good games against Clare and Cork, alot of things to work on,alot better than last year heading into the super 8s.

Ya dont expect to see Shaw until next year's league..looks like Kilian Spillane wont really make the grade either.

Personally i dont see how Ryan is a better keeper than Murphy. It was Murphy's debut year last year and apart from being hung out to dry by Fitzmaurice after the Galway game last year he was really sound.

A bit like the Mayo keepers...it seems that a lot of people think thank Hennelly is a better keeper than Clarke but when it comes to big moments Clarke is sound out whereas Hennelly temperament is very questionable. I know it is early days but for me Ryan's temperament will always be questionable especially when he cant rectify his mistakes back with his club.

I really have faith in Ryan whoops I think if we give him a chance he'll prove himself .

I would have Murphy as a back up though, he's a really good keeper and like you say he got hung out to dry by fitzmaurice last year.
