Cork performance was way better than expected. B. They took some extraordinary flack over the last 2years. For amateur players to deal and recover from this...takes grit and fortitude. Well done to Cork management With return of players like Sean Powter....Cork football future looks bright

We are very poor and the road looks very clear for the dubs to do the 5 .

I hope Cork don't drop their heads now after that and they make the 8s.

I can't see us doing anything in the 8s ourselves."
Cork were never going to win having watched them struggle in the 1st half. Kerry may have been there for the taking but against another team maybe. They always looked likely to score on the break especially when they needed to. We will know more about them after game 2 and 3 of the super 8s.

Cork refusing to kick it into their full forward line, instead kicking wides from 40 yards."
I like both the Hurley brothers...Both should be mainstays of this team.

They started with 16. Manager Keane was on the pitch as well for most of the game.

Replying To lilylanger:  "Cork can feel rightly aggrieved by the ref tonight. The big teams always get the calls. Kerry ridiculously exposed at the back. Clifford's little hand pass to himself was worthy of a better finish. He is a talent and a half. What a poor turnout too 18k for a Munster final between these two great rivals. It's not just Leinster that's a shambles."
As bad as ever I have seen from a ref. He had a huge bearing on the outcome as most of damage was done in the first half. Dublin and Kerry have been kept apart in S8s.

Why though? We lost. Not having a go at you, but are we now reduced to being proud when we lose. Kerry finished this game early and it was over as a meaningful contest after 10 minutes. Kerry won the game and then orchestrated a masterful class of football puppetry where a glimpse of victory was dangled in front of Cork for the hour without ever being the slightest possibility that it might actually happen. This of course was designed to instigate the chorus of cute hoorism, yerraing and ag caoineadh an béal bocht that we see on here from Kerry lads here. I can see loads of people are falling for it. Kerry are preparing to knock Dublin off their perch and Dublin will have to play the game of their lives to get over them. There is nothing to be learned from last night.

I'll tell you something Tom , Kerry will have benefited a lot from that test and will improve big time I'd say.
You'll see them above in Croke Park and they'll be a different team when they get there.
There's no fear of Kerry and they'll be there or thereabouts.

The super 8s are paired according to provincial winners. Every 3 years Munster and Leinster winners meet so they have been kept apart by virtue of the pairing system. Munster is paired with ulster this year. Did the ref make sure Kerry won this year? I think it is a bit of a stretch.

If Kerry don't tighten up that defence they wont be winning an all Ireland. Cork scored 3 goals, should've scored another 3 or 4 too.

More questions than answers this morning.
I would say that when players like Marc OSe, Tom Sullivan, Tomas OSe, and others took time to settle and didnt look like the players they went on to become, Tomas got roasted in his first Munster final and Marc had a poor final in 2002.
The difference was they had experience around them like Moynihan, Fitzmaurice etc.
Some of those young lads just need time.. In Kerry though you dont get time.

Ref was poor, I haven't watched it on telly yet but assuming you weren't at the game you didn't see the carry on by the cork backs pulling and dragging from the throw in to the final whistle. There were some dubious calls but Cork were their own worst enemy in a way too.

Ridiculous to suggest the outcome was fixed.

We are not strong enough back there to play without a sweeper Waynol, I don't think we have the personnel just now to play man v man the way we are trying to. Cork ran through the middle at will.

Barry and Moran are getting slated as well but it was their first start together in 2019 so will see what happens later on.

A win is a win but I am not hopeful of making a big impact later on based on what I saw last night. I hope Peter Keane and co are working on something because if we play like that against the full strength Division One teams we will undoubtedly face later on we almost certainly won't get out of the group.

Fully expected Cork to win as I felt the media were way off on this Cork side. But they were not clinical enough in the home stretch and the class of David Cooper was the difference in the end. Nolan won't be ref in All Ireland id say.

Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "Whoops I agree with you about Barry and Geaney and Geaney is a clubmate of mine but I can't ahree with you about Shane Ryan.

I thought Shane was excellent tonight bar that one blip which in my opinion is a lot down to our lack of a dominant fullback, I remember when Moynihan retired and we were experimenting wit a few different guys at fullback Murph came for a few balls that he shouldn't have and got caught.

Iv seen a lot of Ryan at underage and a bit in underage soccer and he is class, yes he plays out the field for his club and so what ! Shane was being picked to represent Ireland at underage soccer and he gave it up to represent Kerry and for that I give him my full respect.

Shane Murphy was no different to kealy in my opinion."
I agree Kingdomboy, Ryan is our best option. He was good last night apart from that mistake for the goal. If he can iron out the defencicies in his decision making under the high ball he will be one of the best goalkeepers in the country. I thought he had improved his decision making under the high ball since the league but obviously there are still problems there. Hopefully more work will be done with him on it and he won't make a similar mistake in the super 8s because we can't afford to be giving goals away like that.

I don't think the ref was as bad as people are making out. Missed one black card for Kerry and blew the Cork goalie for taking too long, correctly imo, but let the Kerry goalie take similar time.

Apart from that I thought a lot of the 'soft Kerry frees' were correctly judged. Cork backs were a little too aggressive. They really should have realised early what the ref was looking for, Kerry did.

Yerra any day you get out of Cork with a win is a good day.
Lots to work on, particularly in defense, over the next 3 weeks but I would rather be in that situation than where we were this time last year thinking we were going to stroll through to a semi-final.
Some people need to look at the age and Championship experience of most of those lads, your going to get this from young teams.
Home game now to start the Super 8s off. Hopefully a packed house, cracking atmosphere and the sun shinning. A great chance to click into gear put in a good performance and get a shot of momentum for the rest of the summer.
Onwards and upwards! An Riocht Abu.

100% Kerry15 Shane is the man for the job but I don't like that kealy is our goal keeping coach, he isn't qualified to be telling Ryano what to do.
