No it's not. The atmosphere would be horrible. Parnell Park would have been better for Dublin v louth. If louth had home advantage they could have nominated navan which is good too.

Meath v carlow should either be in carlow or navan. Pointless having quarter finals at neutral venues.

The Dubs never play Championship matches in Parnell so that's ruled out. Navan would make sense from a geography point of view. But still you cant beat playing the Dubs in Croke Park.

The words in that last sentence need rearranging.

Hopefully Meath are a bit more convincing against Carlow. Last thing we need is Louth and Dublin fans cheering everything Carlow do in the latter stages.

I honestly don't mean this in a disrespectful or condescending manner but what enjoyment would you get out of seeing your team get a pasting in a quarter full Croke Park?

Why shouldn't they play in their real home venue? They're expecting only 11k Dubs to travel to portlaoise. So if the draw gave them home advantage Parnell Park would do. Sold out yes buy not losing much compared to portlaoise. If Louth got home advantage nominate Navan. When your 12,000 stadium is built in Dundalk it would be ideal to host the Dubs and would be a great boost to the town.

Whether Croke Park is full or not I still love the Stadium. Sure nearly every team gets a pasting in Croke Park now and again including your beloved Mayo. Playing the Dubs in Croke Park just adds to the atmosphere.

Since 2011 the Dubs have played all their league matches in Croke Park so maybe Croke is their real home. I don't mind Navan myself. It's only down the road from me. The sooner this stadium is build in Fundalk the better.

Yeah I'm looking forward to it. I hope louth draw meath at home the year it's ready. Every leinster quarter final and first round should be played at a home venue. Semis at Croker only if the venue makes sense.

So predictions?

Longford to beat Kildare by 1
Meath to beat Laois by 4
Dublin to beat Kildare/Longford by 20+
Dublin to beat Meath by 16

Will any county in Leinster bar Dublin reach the super 8's? Last year only Kildare managed it.

Jack got to say your prediction sounds very pessimistic, I believe Meath will reach Leinster final. But I'd put my house on Meath not getting beat by 16 points, actually I'd be very surprised if the loosing margin is double scores. That's not blind optimism (if I said Meath would win , that would be). That's stated in performances this year. Yes Dublin are at another level to us , but we a building a nice team. And do you honestly think our back six are that bad?? No. Yes we have problems at midfield. But I'm sorry while I agree with many of ur posts I find this disrespectful to the players, who have put in such a valiant and brilliant performances all year (yes blip v Offaly) . And I'll tell you one thing MEATH WILL MAKE SUPER 8s.

Maybe meath will do a "Kildare" and lose by only 9 points but I just don't see it. How much we lose by depends on the first half. If we prevent Dublin scoring a goal in the first half and make the break level we might lose by less then 10. Can't see it though.

Jack things are going well for meath this year it's ok to be optimistic for once. Spreading doom and gloom all the time can't be good for the mind.
