Club Hurling Fixtures

Replying To Stiofan:  "Kildalkey are playing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Lads, this paranoia with Kildalkey is really grinding. Excuses before a sliotar is thrown in. I've yet to see one piece of evidence that Kildalkey have any influence over the fixture committee. Look at your own club and ask your representatives. Get over it."
They are playing two games on wednesday and one thursday according to the fixtures.

All just coincidence again ....

I would agree on clubs themselves needing to push harder for fixtures to suit themselves but i find requests are rarely listen to .
The teams fixed to play on monday should feel very hard done by.

Replying To begining:  "Have to hand it to Kildalkey.

The only senior club to play before the Galway Races bank holiday weekend for the 2nd consecutive year. Playing longwood without their 2 county footballers.

Rest of the clubs playing bank holiday Monday evening, absolute nightmare stuff."
I heard this morning Longwood requested game for Thursday and Kildalkey annoyed as lads on Holiday and their 2nd team are out Friday and it will affect that team also and Other clubs 2nd teams get to play before their senior teams. maybe its karma!

Think everybody was surprised that the game was fixed for rathmolyon
2016 since they last played outside navan i think?

They may use google maps to get there.

Once again, factually incorrect. Longwood requested the game to be played Thursday night. One of there "County footballers" is going on holiday Saturday (and therefore will not be available for Kerry match). Come back to the forum on Thursday, after the game and let us know who did not play. Longwood will have 100% player availability. PARANOIA .

God Kiltale look like they win this in a canter this year. What went wrong with Dunboyne?

Yes kiltale have a good balance to the team now , work the ball very well.
Dunboyne are going down so i wouldnt get to carried away either.
They have got worse every year , you would wonder where they could end up.

Ratoath looked a shadow of the team they were last year , whats changed?
killyon were very bad , standard of the game in general wasnt great.
But a bank holiday monday evening match wont help , terrible from the county board

Kiltale were very strong. Regan couldnt miss, well deserved winners. One thing though, was the refereeing on display, was shocking. The only way for teams to beat this kiltale team is to get in their face and be physical but when teams do this the ref seems to blow for everything. Standard of refereeing needs to improve.

Was at a few of the games, but I have to say Stephen Masterson did a good job of the Trim and Blackhall game.

Trim were poor, shows how reliant they are on Douglas in the forwards.

There was never a referee fixed in the first place so he could not be aware of it. I was in Kilskyre last week for the Intermediate match between Tones and Kells. The 2 linesmen were both football men neither of which ever refereed a game of hurling. Which of them was the stand by ref. There was also 3 hurling referees outside the fence none of which was asked to do the line. In Navan for the 2 senior games it was the same football referees running the line while several hurling referees were sitting in the stand. who would have refereed the game it the ref failed to turn up or had to pull out. This has been repeated at nearly every hurling fixture this year. It looks to me that whoever is fixing these games has no clue who the referees are, or is deliberately doing this. After 3 rounds of the hurling championship still several senior referees in the county still not got a game.

Yeah Kiltale will win the next 2-3 champions at a canter, strong in all positions and getting what they deserve after the hard work they put in at underage but you have to look at why they are so dominant, are they that good or are everyone else just terrible?? My guess is the latter!!
When you had those great kilmessan or Kildalkey teams that won championships or going further back to the great trim teams they had 3-4 teams challenging for the title, but being realistic which team has challenged in the last few years??
Kilmessan are on their way to the jnr ranks
Dunboyne seem to have given up
Kildalkey don't seem to know where their at, very up and down team but not much quality
Trim have a great young team but Iv been hearing that for years
Longwood have about 6 hurlers and no underage of their own
Killyon are still depending on old men and have no underage of their own.
So who's to challenge Kiltale?? No one unfortunately for the foreseeable future and it's been that way for a while now!!

kildalkey seem to have good underage set up but can never actually win any of tthe big prizes like an U16 A title or proper minor title or U21 A title so you get the feeling they are propably always a bit off. still i see them being a team to win a title when kiltale fall away a bit or the hunger goes. unfortunatly in kldalkey any houses built since 2004 the kids are nealy all over 12 now and we probably will go into decline in population again like the 80s and 90s.

I commented on the Minor game for which a referee was fixed but didn't turn up for some reason.

There was no referee appointed for the senior game that night which is true.

You did not mention Ratoath or Na Fianna who, with Trim, have the best underage coming through.

Yes your right, they have very good underage teams, at least ratoath do not sure that Na Fianna still have but should have enough to keep themselves as one of the strongest 5-6 snr teams for a while, just don't see them challenging for a championship. Just remember that Navan O'Mahony s won 7minor A and 9 u21 A in a row ( probably wrong with the amount of titles but there or there abouts) and have never won a snr so underage does not guarantee success!

Ratoath, on their day can beat anyone but a bit reliant on Kelly and especially Gavin Mcgowan who can be a bit injury prone.
Na Fianna, decent team with 4-5 really good hurlers and the rest not bad either but for all the underage dominance don't see them winning a championship, bit soft.
Boardsmill, small parish and doing well to stay snr but until they figure out if their a hurling or football club they will never be up to much.
Blackhall, 5-6 really good hurlers the rest are poor, no underage at all.
Navan, very poor, ran out of subs last week. Club and especially former players really need to step up and put a bit of effort into hurling.

I'm fairly sure that their 3 in a row team never won any underage A competition!! The trims, ratoaths dunboynes will always win these underage competitions because they have larger picks and more importantly they will normally always have a team full of players that are of the correct age where as the Kildalkey's, boardsmills, killyons could have 6-7 young lads making up the numbers.

Sounds like you're trying to line up Masterson for the county final.
