GAA club teams up with Coventry City
May 01, 2014
A GAA club in Warwickshire has announced a novel partnership with Coventry City FC.
The partnership will see the Football League One outfit relocate their school holiday camps and development squads to the St. Finbarr's Sports & Social Centre in Holsbrooks. The Centre has undergone a £2 million development, which included the installation of a 4G pitch.
St. Finbarr's GAA club members are confident that the partnership will lead to an underage revival. The club was one of the founding members of Warwickshire GAA with a proud history stretching back over 50 years.
"We hope to be able to offer as many young people as possible the opportunity of sport, and to also introduce them to the fantastic sport of Gaelic games," St Finbarr's GAA chairman Danny Coleman explained to The Irish Post website.
"The partnership with Coventry City FC and the level of investment we have put into place to develop our facilities will help us to meet these goals.
"Despite a lapse of a number of years, we already have three underage GAA teams up and running and we hope this will now go from strength to strength."
