Kerry manager Tom Howard is in a positive mood ahead of the Christy Ring Cup semi final.

The Kingdom take on Kildare at Tralee on Saturday afternoon, but will have to plan without Tommy Barrett, who is out with a hamstring injury.

Otherwise, Seanie Maunsell and Mike Lynch are responding well to treatment on shoulder injuries and could be available for selection.

Howard admitted to the Kerryman that the mood in the camp was positive ahead of the penultimate stage of this year's championship.

"This is probably the strongest panel we've had all year so from that point of view it is looking positive," said Howard.

"Fellas are generally free of injury and training well. All the indications are positive."
