Shiels not counting his chickens

Antrim and Dunloy star Paul Shiels
Paul Shiels says Antrim's hurlers can't afford to be getting ahead of themselves.

The Glensmen have paid a heavy price in the past for looking too far down the line and their 24-year-old wing forward points out that they can't look beyond Laois tomorrow night:

"We beat Laois earlier in the year in the Walsh Shield and there was nothing in it," the Dunloy clubman says in The Irish News.

"It was the same in the league last year and it'll be the same this time.

"We maybe got caught thinking about Galway a wee bit last year before that Westmeath defeat. So London, Carlow or Galway is still a long way away for us this time.

"We need to be more accurate from play and focus on putting on over 20 points and see where that takes us."
