Kerry manager Tom Howard has hailed the impact of John Egan following his return from injury.

Egan produced an outstanding display during the second half of their Christy Ring Cup win over Derry last Saturday, despite only return after 12 months out with injury.

Howard praised all his players, but singled Egan out for special attention as he told the Kerryman what he thought of the wing forward.

"We had a couple of hero performances," stated Howard. "The likes of John Egan who hasn't hurled in twelve months to come back in and give a second half performance like he did was just tremendous, but we had heroes all over the field." Tweet
