Glancy a happy man
March 19, 2010
Leitrim hurling manager Kevin Glancy is glad to see his team up and running.
Glancy watched on with pride as his players compiled their first victory of the 2010 national hurling league with a battling 3-15 to 3-10 defeat of South Down at Pairc Sean on Sunday.
Afterwards, he told the Leitrim Observer he was delighted with the win:
"I'm very happy. I knew that performance was in the team.
"Psychologically, it was a big thing for us. We lost our first two games and if we had lost our third the lads' heads would have been down naturally.
"This is a great fillip and the manner we won it is a big bonus as well.
"The game was always close score-wise, so they knew we had to pick it up when we went a man down."
