James Stephens' manager Niall Tyrrell has pointed out that the players are driving the team forward this year.
The Village are back in a county final after a few years in the doldrums by their standards as they prepare to face city rivals Dicksboro in Sunday week's county final.
There is a good mix of youth and experience in the squad and Tyrrell told the Kilkenny People that the older players have certainly played their part.
"There is composure there - but when you have hurlers like Jackie Tyrrell, Eoin Larkin and Donnacha Cody - guys who have been there, done that - who are talking to these young lads every night at training and even during matches it certainly helps," said Tyrrell.
"They're coaxing them along, helping them. They're the ones who have taken us along this year. The whole thing has been player-driven. As a management team, that's hugely satisfying for us to see."
