McDermott wants a 'performance'

Clare manager Micheal McDermott is confident his side will beat Waterford in Sunday's NFL opener at Cusack Park if they play to their potential.
"It's all about the performance of the players and they know if they perform to the level that they're capable of, they will get a result next Sunday," he said in the Clare Champion.
"An awful lot of it is going to be down to their performance and, most importantly, their attitude taking the field. You want them going in looking forward to the match and believing in themselves. The scoreline should take care of itself after that."
McDermott, who has secured the services of Dublin native Shane McGrath under the parentage rule, says Clare have been working hard on their possession game since losing heavily to Cork in the McGrath Cup.
"It was something we were very conscious of after the Cork match and the players themselves knew they gave the ball away too cheaply.
"Against any opposition you're going to be punished at inter-county level and they were reminded of that after the Cork game and at every training session that we've had since."
