Round two of the Senior and Intermediate hurling championships are completed

We are down to the last four in the senior and intermediate hurling championships as last Saturday saw two quarter-finals in each grade, as well as semi-finals at junior and junior 2. We pick our standout performers from all those games.

Kilmessan stunned Killyon after extra-time while Kildalkey saw off surprise packets Ratoath. At intermediate level Na Fianna set up a semi-final date with Kilskyre/Moylagh while Kildlakey's second string completed a great weekend for the club.

Chris Curtis, Kilmessan: Another steady display from the Kilmessan number 1 that included a brilliant save in the first quarter of extra-time that proved crucial as Kilmessan advanced to the last four at Pairc Tailteann.

Enda Fitzgerald, Kildalkey: Held Ratoath danger man Gavin McGowan to a point in that 2-14 to 0-11 quarter final win at Pairc Tailteann.

Shane Brennan, Kilmessan: A power house on the edge of the square for the eventual winners. Many Killyon attacks ended with the county defender.

Mickey Foley, Gaeil Colmcille: One of the best players on the field despite that IHC quarter final loss. Broke up Na Fianna attacks time after time and cleared his lines to great effect.

Thomas Raleigh, Killyon: Another whole hearted display from Raleigh. Very committed in his defensive work and scored the best two points of the game in that shock quarter-final defeat to Kilmessan.

Darragh Kelly, Ratoath: Another strong performance for the county senior who was the standout player for Ratoath and their top scorer with six points in the loss to Kildalkey.

Ethan Devine, Na Fianna: A top class display from the half back. Registered three points as Na Fianna advanced to the last four of the IHC at Gaeil Colmcille's expense.

Ross Flynn, Kildalkey: A masterclass of free taking from the Kildalkey midfielder. Top scored with ten points as the Village second string stunned Rathmolyon in the IHC quarter final at Trim.

Adam Gannon, Killyon: Covered all of Pairc Tailteann for last year's beaten finalists. Had a hand in a lot of the Killyon scores and chipped in with three fine points in that extra-time loss to Kilmessan.

Tony Fox, Kildalkey: Rolled back to years to inspire Kildalkey's third string to a junior 2 semi-final victory over Boardsmill. The former county player scored 11 points in that 1-19 to 2-5 win at Dunganny.

Paddy Conneely, Kildalkey: Scored six points and proved a constant threat to the Ratoath rear-guard as the former three in a row Jubilee Cup winners advanced to the last four.

Sean Martin, Na Fianna: Played a lead role in their junior 2 semi-final loss to Kiltale and then turned in a brilliant performance when introduced as a sub for the intermediates in their quarter-final win over Gaeil Colmcille. Hit a combined total of 10 points over the two games.

Darren Reilly, Kilmessan: Some fantastic scores from the accurate corner forward. Landed ten points as Paul Reilly's charges stunned Killyon in that extra-time win at headquarters.

Leighton Massey, Trim: The full forward hit two goals and a point as Trim compounded a bad weekend for Killyon to book their place in the junior hurling championship final in Dunganny.

Mikey Mullen, Killyon: Despite that SHC quarter final extra-time loss the county minor posted 1-8 and gave the Kilmessan defence a torrid time at Pairc Tailteann.
