Before Galway went to the one sponsor our footballers had Cancer Care West on the front of the jerseys - i may be wrong but i'm sure this was for nothing???? tribeinbrum (Galway) - Posts: 4155 - 23/05/2013 15:41:58 1389813 Link 0 |

A very worthwhile thing to do. If it can be done on television ads it can be done in this context too. It could be done similar to the League of Ireland jersey design. Jimin10 (Meath) - Posts: 783 - 23/05/2013 15:44:08 1389816 Link 0 |

Galway Football entered into an agreement and had a sponsored walk in different parts of the county with different senior players walking in each area. Raised €140,000 in 2011, unsure about the 2012 figure. The money was spilt 50/50, it was a great idea and I commend those involved. ahsure. Indeed fair play to Dublin and something that is well worth it. It is a subject that many find hard to talk about and it taking many lives at all ages. There is a programme on RTE 1 now about it. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9840 - 23/05/2013 21:29:07 1390157 Link 0 |

Well done to vodafone for allowing this to happen. But bear in mind they are pretty much certain they will have at least 4 or 5 more opportunities to have their logo sported on a jersey in a packed Croke park and on television. Big ask of other counties' sponsors to give up what is already limited exposure. No reason why every county can't have something on the sleeve or back that doesn't take away from the main sponsor though. square_ball_69 (Westmeath) - Posts: 826 - 23/05/2013 21:32:08 1390161 Link 0 |

What does anyone think of the article on the main page about the HSE calling on the GAA and other organisations not to glamourise suicide by dedicating games or trophys to people who have taken their own life? anfearbeag (Meath) - Posts: 1134 - 03/06/2013 20:26:01 1397972 Link 0 |
