hill, my point is that your fellow dublin supporter was arguing that soccer is very strong in dublin and so has a big effect on yer support, I am pointing out that other counties have similar if not bigger distractions. Do you follow???

Think ye missed my point, i was replying to another poster who said he would like his county to have the pick that dublin do when getting players, i was saying its not that clear cut because schoolboys have other distractions like their being 5 loi clubs in dublin alone who they would go to, i was not arguing that soccer clubs in dublin take from adults going to support the Dubs,

Pat Spillane on the Championship remarked that the last time Cork met Galway in a hurling semi the crowd was a staggering 7,000, we've all come a long way. As for big attendances and the Dubs funding the GAA - there is more to it than bums on seats, its their huge advertising revenue stream which is massive, shirts etc Even if support is down this year it still doesn't take from the fact that the GAA needs the dubs, its a pain in the butt if you hate the dubs but thats life.

you're right arock. dublin must make some amount of revenue in others ways. it would be interesting to see the figures compared to other big GAA counties like Cork.

I think the arguments coming "Dublin have more fans, more money....blah blah"

As pointed out to you hillbillies on so many occasions.....

Dublin have pumped money in two codes underage....and are fighting soccer in the city for playera. Like there are about ten soccer clubs to one Gaa club in lots of areas. So more money....more problems!

Maybe other county boards should manage their budgets to accomodate what problems they can affect in their county. If Dublin have negotiated good deals.....thats Dublins business. Other counties need to do the same!

I'm sure that when they count all the empty cans and bring them to the recycling plant...they make lots of money from it!
