Any chance Galway will stand up to Kerry?

Dont know what ye think lads but I do not give Galway a snowballs chance in Hell. I sincerely hope im proved wrong as I would like to see big Joe get a bit of success and always enjoy seein any county put it up to Kerry. Just think Galway , very much like Derry will show too much respect. They will be overawed by the presence of 'Greatness'. Love to see the Tribesmen do it , and would certainly leave a very interesting bottem of the table clash if Tyrone can overcome Cork.

Cant see it happening TBH, both back lines are poor but Kerry have more up front. We'll, as usual, be relying on MM to weigh in with about 1-5 to stand a chance

When Kerry win its because other "bottle" or show too much "respect".. God what planet are you on; players go out to win-Derry went out to win, they just did not have it....they don't all bow down to the so called greatness of Kerry. Its an lazy arguement in relation to proper analysis of the game.

Galway are on the way up I reckon. The match against Cork showed that they will keep fighting having got an eigth point lead down to two. They have a few injuries for Sunday so that may effect them but I reckon Joe is shaping them up and they could be a good force in the championship. Kerry are improving too but a lot of experimentation going on. If Kerry can hold Meehan (who is on great form), then they may win but Kerrys defence is apathic at the moment with experienced lads like Tommy Griffin doing intensive building exercise now which makes him sluggish on the field.

I reckon Kerry but Galway are on the up.

As for Tyrone and Cork-should be a great match. Will Cavanagh be back? if so and he is on form, I think Tyrone can do it. He is a dynamic player to the game and just ups the level. Tyrone will have learnt a lot from last years game and though they may not want to show the cards now, they are in a dicey positon-they need to start winning games or its down to Div 2. Cork are missing Canty and Miskella too so maybe it won't be such a running game. As Jack O Connor said last year, every one of the Cork team are markable.....thats how Kerry won the AI-Cork didn't bottle-look at the game-they keep fighting to the end-Kerrys defence, stopping their running game and Counhians lack of Plan B was what got them.

Reckon its Tyrones.

I wouldn't rule out a Galway win. Having lost to Mayo, and then Cork, this team will have to start winning some big games if they have any desire to succeed this year. Expect Joe to have them fired up, and seeing the likes of Damian Burke in the fullback line suggests Joe has no notion of playing nice.

Home advantage could be a factor here & both teams need 2 points badly. A draw could be the outcome, but if I had to say one, Id say Kerry

Ah come on KerryKerry too many counties are prepared to watch fecklessly as Kerry march through them with unchallenged serenity. Even saw it 2 years ago first hand when your boys waltzed to victory against Galway at Croke park. Galway people actually cite that as a great match! I mean I ask ye , this is their sentiment after a defeat , and there was only ever going to be one winner that day. Kerry were happy to allow Michael Meehan to kick over a few beautiful scores because the Tribe's midfield parted like the Red Sea during any Kerry attack. I was sittin beside a Dublin lad that day who I didnt know and I remember him commenting on how ridiculously porous Galway were and how little fight they put up. Unfortunately in recent years Tyrone are the only county who simply refuse to buckle under Kerry pressure. Look if I were a Kerryman i'd be loving it , so its certainly no condemnation of youre boys. Far from it.

I'm sick of watching Galway being brushed aside by Kerry teams that barely break into a sweat, but after looking at the team selection for tomorrow I have no great hopes that the pattern is about to change. Barry Cullinane and Niall Coleman are simply not good enough for this level. Maybe we have nobody better but how the hell will we know unless we try some alternatives?

I really dont think a lot of the Tyrone/Armagh brigade do understand, it is pure football when these two meet, i still maintain the best game i ever saw was the championship match between these two a couple of years ago. I happen to be in Osheas in town the weekend after, was speaking to a Tyrone man, his response to me when i said it was a class game of pure natural football was, a shake of the head "too soft too soft" he replied, that sums it up for me in terms of how they understand the more natural traditional open game.

Kernan has only been there a short time and it may be too soon to change the Galway mindset which seems to be happy to compete with big teams but lack the steel to win tight games that the Kerry, Armagh, Tyrone etc. of recent years have been able to do. Galway need to stop looking behind their shoulders to the success of the 60's and turn of the century teams and look what they have got now. Until they decide that they have every right to win an All-Ireland they will not and Joe will help in that regard. You have to remember that although Joe only achieved 2 national county titles with Armagh, the resources of Armagh are tiny comapared to Galway. Galway should always be at the top table.

Kerry are under the most dramatic single season transition that any county has ever encountered (in terms of key personnel lost in a single season). They will experiment and be quite happy to experiment whether they win or lose. Tyrone lost 3 of their 1st four games and that may be a real blessing as 3-4 players seem to have emerged of championship standard. Jack O Connors only concern will be finding players as well. He will not care one dot should they get relegated. Kerry after all won an all-ireland from div. 2/3 a few years ago (was in 98 or 00?). On that basis I think that Galway might just shade this game at home.
