My brother suffered from this for 6/7 years and now, at age 22, has just gotten the all-clear. He missed lots of time, including one single 14 month stretch. Its an awful condition, I saw the pure pain he went through with this. Primarily, running laps upon laps was one of the main causes. After consulting with the great A.K. in Dublin he has finally made a full recovery. Any help you need with this, please let me know. icehonesty (Wexford) - Posts: 2575 - 24/11/2008 22:48:31 148950 Link 0 |

All get together to discuss problems in the groin/pubic area. Sounds a bit dodgy to me,go to yer Doctor and get some cream. Chester1970 (Armagh) - Posts: 509 - 25/11/2008 08:38:15 149045 Link 0 |

And exactly how many people have this pubic problem as a friend on facebook? sheepshooter (Meath) - Posts: 626 - 26/11/2008 10:05:32 150149 Link 0 |
Sheepshooter, I was expecting a few quips about being friends with a pubic problem! The forum on facebook is a means for athletes to exchange information and adivce on the injury, facebook merely provides the platform for them to do this. It is not so much about being friends, more to do with compiling information, knowledge and many experiences in one place, to help create more transparency and understanding in dealing with this extremely difficult injury. osteitis_pubis (Wicklow) - Posts: 37 - 26/11/2008 11:57:55 150270 Link 0 |

lose some weight OP do your stretches, take your drugs, rest and if all that fails retire to golf like the rest of us. bigfinger (Tyrone) - Posts: 203 - 28/11/2008 09:13:05 152132 Link 0 |
I don't think we should get involved in a war against ostetitus pubis until we see real evidence of w.m.d. Look what happened before!! northpole (Derry) - Posts: 739 - 29/11/2008 13:34:16 152913 Link 0 |
Rather than using the brown bread poultice I would suggest the "brown bread only" diet. If one can find the very rough variety and is prepared to stick at it then it will get rid of most things lochgarmanabu (Wexford) - Posts: 1022 - 29/11/2008 20:42:26 153062 Link 0 |

I've been writing a blog on my osteitis pubis recovery. This may be beneficial to other lads in the same boat. The more info out there the better. This is an extremely challenging injury and I hope this blog can help some fellow players see what has and hasn't worked for me. Here's the link. killdaball (Meath) - Posts: 26 - 08/12/2012 18:53:36 1308052 Link 0 |
Has anybody got any experience or recommendations on how to get treatment (physio, etc) covered under the GAA injury fund/insurance scheme seeing as physio is not covered. Dustin (Cavan) - Posts: 26 - 17/02/2014 11:04:12 1547208 Link 0 |
