Former Dublin star Paul Bealin
Former Dublin midfielder Paul Bealin is the latest name to be linked to the Westmeath football manager's job.
hoganstand.com has learned that the 1995 All-Ireland winner was interviewed for the position earlier this week. Bealin was player-manager of Ballyboden St. Enda's when they won the Dublin SFC title in 1995. He then managed Blessington in Wicklow before guiding Mullahoran to successive Cavan SFC final appearances against Cavan Gaels in 2004 and '05.
Bealin has also managed the Wexford and Carlow football teams in the past decade.
Westmeath officials are also expected to make contact with ousted Kildare manager Kieran McGeeney in the coming days. A recommendation is due to be put to club delegates at next Wednesday's county board meeting.
