Shinrone and Shamrocks captured the JHC 'A' and 'B' titles respectively last weekend.
Shinrone were crowned JHC 'A' champions for the second time in three years when they defeated a fancied Ballinamere side by 1-14 to 1-7 at O'Connor Park. The winners stormed into a 0-6 to 0-0 lead inside 18 minutes and were still six points to the good, 0-8 to 0-2, at the break.
Points from Declan Cleary, Ray Cordial and Barry McNamara kept them well in control before Alan Scully gave Ballinamere a glimmer of hope. But a 55th minute goal from substitute Adrian Cleary wrapped up the win for the south Offaly side.
Also at O'Connor Park, Shamrocks were given a much-needed boost when they claimed the JHC 'B' title thanks to a 2-10 to 2-7 victory over Raheen. The win, which was inspired by Shane Cunningham who finished with a personal tally of 1-6, will help soften the blow of Shamrocks losing their senior status earlier this year.
