Season Ticket Problems

(Oldest Posts First)

Hi all,
Long time watcher of the forums but first time poster here as I'm looking for a bit of help and I'm wondering if any of the rest of ye are having any problems with your season tickets this year. I have had a season ticket since they came out except for last year and until now they have worked really really well until this year. It worked fine for the league and the league final and the Wicklow game in Aughrim, no complaints there, the trouble started with the semi final against Wexford.
There are 3 of us that have the season tickets and in order for us to to be seated next to each other one of the lads set up a "seating group" through tickets.ie and invited the other 2 of us to the seating group, no problems there. A few days before tickets.ie email you your match ticket they emailed to give us the chance to but a +1 on the season ticket and I wanted to buy a ticket for another one of the lads so logged into my tickets.ie account to buy it and just as I was buying it I noticed in the small print that it states "If you purchase a +1, you and your +1 will be moved out of your seating group and put in another section of the stadium. Because of this I didn't buy the +1 and after 2 days of phoning tickets.ie I was told that I had to get onto the GAA ticket office instead. Rang them and was told that I wasn't allowed to talk to anyone from the season ticket department that they could only be contacted through email. I left a message for them to call me and 2 days went by and nobody got in touch. On the 3rd day I rang again and left another message asking them to call me. The next day I got an email from the season ticket office (I didn't leave my email address so she would have had to go digging thru season ticket records to get my email address) where she had basically copied and pasted the same line about being moved. Emailed her back again asking her to call me and I got a snotty email back basically saying they don't want to talk to season ticket holders.
So I rang back to the GAA ticket office to ask a few questions, I asked "If I buy the +1 where exactly will we be sitting" her reply was "I don't know" then I asked if the 3 of us all got +1's would we then be put 6 together in a different section, her reply again was "I don't know" Needless to say that I didn't buy the +1, went to the Wexford game and the seating group worked to plan and I thought that's that.
Cue the Dublin game...........
About 10days before the Dublin game the lad who set up the seating group asked me to log in to tickets.ie and check that the seating group was still there incase it had to be re-done for each match but we both checked it and the seating group was still good. Printed the tickets off on Sunday morning before the game only to notice that my own season ticket was away from the seating group but the other 2 lads were seated together, not only was this bad enough they put me in the Dublin season ticket holders section, I was the only green jersey for 9 row's in front of me and 11 row's behind me. Needless to say that this took a lot of enjoyment out of the game first of all from being moved away from the lads and second for being put in with only the opposing fans.

Also, a girl I know is a Dublin season ticket holder and as long as her and myself with the Meath season ticket have been going to match's in Croke Park the season ticket will always get you a real good seat somewhere in section 304-308 in the Lower Cusack. She got the +1 for the final and her and her +1 were moved behind the goal in the canal end. I know that these are far from the worst seats in the house but they are not nearly as good as the half way line in the Lower Cusack. It defies all logic that they done this as I know a fella who is not a season ticket holder who was able to log onto tickets.ie and buy 2 tickets for section 308 pretty much on the half way line.

So basically I'm just wondering if anyone else is having any problems with the season ticket this year????

Haven't had any problems that extreme, although I've avoided the +1 arrangement this year because I read that you can be given a seat anywhere. I've had the season ticket since they were introduced and what I would say is that the only thing they have going for them is that the price is a good deal if you are going to the games anyway. There is no consistency in the thing at all. Last year you couldn't get the extra seat and this year you can. The seating really is pot luck. There doesn't seem to be any great thought put into it. There are two of us go together and like yourself we were at the game last Sunday in the middle of a load of blue jersies. Typical GAA response you got too.

That poor Dublin girl having to sit in the canal end for the All-Ireland final!!
What an absolute comical post.
Everyone on here knows how precious an AI final ticket is when Meath are playing never mind when Dublin are in it.
The season ticket concept is excellent I think (don't have one myself) and guarantees a ticket to the final should your county get there.
There is just no pleasing some people.

Jesus lads the man only asked for a bit of feedback on your experience with the Season Tix, not snotty replies taking the head of him.
And for the record gunner, he said final as in last Sunday, nobody was bitching about AI final tickets. Everyone knows there are no +1's allowed for AI tickets anyway.

With regard the Season tickets, I didnt bother renewing mine this year because of that. Firstly it had went up by €10, but the admission into Div.3 games was less than Div.2 so the saving was much lass.
Also, I rather being able to pick where Im going to sit for games in croker, I.E Hogan, cusack or upper/lower tiers. I think you should have this choice, or even the hill if you wish, but you dont get this option.
The +1 setup is a disaster the way its done at the moment and I think your best bet for the 27th is to use the opt out option now for this game, and then order them through tickets.ie as a normal customer. The only drawback beig that your attendance isnt recorder.
