SFC Final referee

Cormac Reilly?
As a general rule the lads who get semi finals don't get the final.
Brien from Duleek is overdue one and is well capable of handling it.
Any other suggestions?

I think Colm McManus or Joey Curly should get the senior final brilliant refferees

Eamon Barry for the referee for the SFC final. He won't hold any bias towards Dunshaughlin since he was their manager about 10 years ago. Sure the team probably have forgotten who he is.

McManus got a semi final and as a general rule the fellas who get that don't get the final.
Joey Curley is a lot of things, a nice man amongst them, but a brilliant referee he is not.
Competent is the word I'd use.

Itll have to be Joey Curley Cormac Reilly or Donal Smith. Would normally say David Coldrick but given the fact that hes from Blackhall sort of rules him out for it

Should be one of the Top refs in the county Coldrick, Reilly, Curley. Put the best refs in charge of your showpiece match. Let all the pretenders get to their standard before awarding them such a prestigeous game

Donal Smith has got the IFC decider, Patrick Neilis has the Junior A and Paul Mooney the junior D.
Reilly may well get the SFC, but he's had a shaky enough season, will the CC have faith in him.
That does NOT mean I think he is a bad ref, I don't but even his most ardent admirer will have to admit he has had better seasons.

Seems to be the Joey Curley fan Club here. He dis one 2 years ago and did a good job. I think Liam OBrein will get it by far the best Ref in Navan over the weekend. No messing around booking lads for nothing or blowing up and not allowing advantage. He let the game flow and did well.

Lets face it,the general standard of refereeing is terrible not only in meath but in every county. As a ballinabrackey man i travel to offaly and westmeath and sometimes kildare games and the standard is poor in every county but in particular meath. The only ref i have seen that uses common sense in a game is eamon barry. He lets the lads get on with it and lets football do the talking and if someone misbehaves he deals with it correctly.I have a feeling that Richard Morris will get the final as he was in the running last year till he took ill.

If you go on the premise that one of the semi final refs wont get the final you'll be ruling out the best refs in the county this year by far. David Gough has had a fantastic year. Coldrick/Morris are BHG clubmen, unlikey either will get it. The only other ref of county standard is Cormac Reilly. This is biggest club game in the calendar and deserves the best ref, not a who's next on the list job.

Lutch, I've seen Richard Morris a couple of times and I have to say he is a very steady ref. He always seems calm and is not afraid to communicate with players when he makes a decision. He's certainly not whistle happy and what I liked about him was he didn't get conned by players grabbing the oponents arm and pretending to be wrestled to the ground. In the 2009 final the ref made a couple of baffling decisions which had major bearing on the game, the awarding of the free to the Tones at the death which necessated the extra time and then he cancelled it out at the end of extra time with a similar award to Sench.

Have to agree about David Gough, he was outstanding again last Sunday, but as I said generally speaking lads that do semis do not get the decider.
He did a great job on the IFC final last season as well.
But at a guess, and it is only a guess, Beany Brien will get a well earned appointment.

Thank God the CB has put a competent ref in Cormac Reilly in charge of the SFC final.

The best man for the job without a doubt bar David Goldrick who I suppose couldn't do it given he's from Batterstown.

Men of 49......The best bar David Goldrick ???? One of the worst decisions in croke park made this year was by this ref by disallowing kildares goal v donegal, now i know we were wronged aswell with a disallowed goal but how a man can get such an easy decision so badly wrong is beyond me.His umpire wanted to give the goal who was 6 feet away but was over ruled by goldrick who was 40 yards away.Average referee but in fairness is there any genuine good referees out there anywhere.

Coldrick is the best by a long way. Nobody as consistent over the years.

Anybody who thinks David Coldrick is only average knows the square root of diddly squat about refereeing.
He's exceptional, the best in Ireland by a distance.
A very LONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG distance.
