Despite predictions that the Fermanagh under 21 hurling team winners of the Ulster Under 21 Hurling Shield for 2012, their rather easy succumbing to opponents Armagh took even the most zealous supporters by surprise. Despite leading they orchard county by two answered points firstly from a free by their centre half back Francie McBrien, and then a second Erneside point from play by their big mid-fielder J.P. McGarry, eventually replied through a point from Connor Corvan. Immediately they then dominant Ernesider's struck back with their third point from a free by the very their very inform full forward Shea Curran. On the verge of this game's second quarter and leading comfortably, with a score of three points for Fermanagh to a modest solitary point for Armagh, they Ernesider's lead could have been massively increased when suddenly a Fermanagh attacker found himself in front the orchard county goals, but delayed pulling the trigger, and quickly disposed by an Armagh defender. Weathering that attack they orchard lads flew up field and in their subsequent profitably raids on they Ernesider's defence gained a point and then a goal by Danny Magee. With the scoring boots firmly on their feet, they Armagh attack utilised they remaining minutes of the opening half to copper fasten control of they park's score, when they speedily added a further four points from firstly Connor Corvan ( 2 pts.) and , who was joined in this late opening half mini blitz, with a fifth point from substitute Mattie Lennon. In a seamless continuity they Armagh attackers renewed their scoring siege of the now beleaguered Fermanagh defence, when they orchards Sean Colton and Connor Corvan added one and two more points respectfully. However Fermanagh's biggest set back didn't come further Armagh scores, but from their injured mid-fielder and iconic captain John Duffy, who had to assisted off the playing park to the visibly disappointed team mates. With the matches fourth and final quarter no entered and the park scoreboard now registering Fermanagh with a modest score of 6 points to Armagh's massive 4 goals 9 points, the far from subdued Erneside continued to battle gamely on but well aware of their disadvantageous scoring now entered a surprisingly scoring blitz, when very under the scoring cosh Fermanagh side added a further five points. Not be outdone by this scoring rearguard by they Ernesider's Armagh side added a far from modest six points from their supremely confident attack squad of Connor Corvan ( 4 pts.), Mattie Lennon (1 pt.), Austin Mackle (1 pt.). They still battling Fermanagh attack had points from JP.McGARRY Ciaran Corrigan, (1 pt.), Oision Boyle, (1 pt.) and Shea Curran (2 pts.). However those latter points were mere cosmetic scoring in a match that was effectively won by superior side from the moment injured mid-fielder and iconic captain John Duffy hobbled of to the side.

The Aftermath
All Is Not Lost
Though did in plain man's language Fermanagh did receive a scoring drubbing from a classy Armagh side, they because of winning the Ulster Under Hurling Shield go forward compete in the Under 21 All-Ireland Quarter Final possibly against Roscommon in August. We wish them well in that task. Not to many Fermanagh G.A.A. teams are still engaged in competitive matches in the eight month of the year.
