December 01, 2012The Clontead-native was well liked and respected throughout the parish. Residing in Farta, Belgooly, as well as a successful farmer. Bob had been a well-known local historian regularly contributing to a number of publications. In addition to his contribution to the success of Belgooly Show, Bob had been a life-long member of Fianna Fáil and had won a senior All-Ireland hurling medal with Cork in 1942. Many tributes were paid during the week, particularly form the Belgooly and Ballymartle GAA clubs.
