Membership Registration Days

Club membership for 2016 is now being collected. The rates are the same as in 2015 and you can pay it to any Club officer. You can also pay online on our website or the Sign Up button on our Facebook page. Registration days (both juvenile and senior) in the gym on Sat 12th and Sat 26th of March from 9.30AM to 12.30PM.

Club Officer Training

Cavan GAA are organising a club officer information evening on Monday 14th March from 7.15pm to 9.30pm in the Hotel Kilmore. The course is for Chairpersons, Secretaries, Treasurers, PROs, Coaching Officers, Children's Officers, Development Officers, Cultural Officers and Insurance Officers. New and existing Officers should attend. There will be a short plenary session followed by six workshops.

Defibrillator Training

Defibrillator Training for new users as well as refresher training for existing users on Saturday 19th March @ 5PM in the Club gym. At least one representative from each of the men's and ladies' teams (both Senior and Juvenile) must attend. Names should be given to Andreas (0870910545), Damien (0868281031) or Frank (0862508612). A new defibrillator is also now in place in the Community Centre.

Club Jubilee

2016 is the 50th Jubilee year of the formation of the Club in 1966. There will be a Gala Dinner on 21st October in the Hotel Kilmore. There will also be a number of events organised during the year to mark the occasion, including a Jubilee book.

Club Senior Men

The Seniors had their first competitive outing of year in the Spring League last Sunday against Ballinagh and were well beaten unfortunately. Hard luck lads. There's no game this coming weekend - next up is the first ACFL game at home to Bailieboro on 20th March.

Club Senior Ladies

The ladies lost to Bailieboro last Sunday in the 9-a-side competition. There is no fixture for this coming weekend.

County Senior Men

Well done to Martin and the County Senior Men on another impressive display against Armagh last Saturday evening. Martin chipped in with a point and set up plenty more scores. Next up is Fermanagh next Saturday @ 7PM in Enniskillen.

County Senior Ladies

Well done to Caitríona, Elaine, Courtney, Rachel and the County Senior Ladies who got back to winning ways away to Laois in Killeshin last Sunday. Next game isn't until Sunday 3rd April at home to Sligo.

County U16 Ladies

Well done and best of luck to Eimear Kennedy who is on the 2016 County Development Squad. They travelled to Donegal last Sunday and unfortunately lost.

Minors Men

Next fixture is due to be at home v O'Raghallaigh Gaels on Sat 12th March. Please support our teams.

Under 16 Boys

We have been drawn in Division 2 (Group 1) for the League along with Bailieborough, Castlerahan, Kingscourt, Laragh Utd and Southern Gaels (Gowna & Lacken). Competition is 13-a-side and is due to start on Tues 5th April.

Under 14 Boys

We have been drawn in Division 1 for the League along with Bailieborough, Ballymachugh, Butlersbridge, Gowna and Ramor Utd. Competition is 13-a-side and is due to start on Thurs 21st April. Training on Monday nights @ 8PM on the track.

Under 12 Boys

We are in the Red Group for the Spring competition along with Bailieborough, Crosserlough, Cuchulainns, Kingscourt, Knockbride and Lavey. We will have two teams (11-a-side and 9-a-side) in the competition which is due to start on Mon 11th April. Training on Monday nights @ 8PM on the track.

Under 10 Boys

The Under 10 Boys were displaying their skills at half-time in the Armagh game in Breffni Park last Saturday night. Let's hope they can reach the standards shown by the county team on the night! Training is on Saturday mornings at 9.30AM. Contact John on 0868265247 for venue.

Killykickers

Killykickers youth academy training continues every Saturday at 9.30AM in the main hall in Cavan Sports Complex. All boys and girls aged 6 and under are welcome.

St. Pats Brock Cup team

Well done to St. Pats who won their opening Brock Cup match against St. Louis, Ballymena. Shane Cosgrave, Eoin Kelly and Oisín Brady are on the squad - Shane played against St. Louis. The team also won their second match against St. Macartan's, Monaghan with an impressive scoreline 4-11 to 1-06. Keep up the good work lads.

St. Pats Dalton Cup team

Well done to the Dalton squad which includes our own Conor McCabe and Cian Reilly. They won their first two matches against St. Macartan's, Monaghan (8-07 to 4-05) and Abbey CBS, Newry (2-12 to 3-08).

U16s - Track with Peter Walsh every Monday 7.50-8.40PM.

County Board Jailbreak!

Club members Mark Lynch, Tom Maguire and Lorraine Teevan are helping the Cavan County Board with this big fundraiser. Thanks to everyone for supporting all the fundraising events to date. Lorraine also has a sponsorship card in the home dressing room if you would like to help her out. Mark and Tom are holding a Race Night in the Meadow View on 16th March - more details on that when they're available.

Congratulations

Heartiest congratulations to the newly-weds, Andy and Laoise McGovern who tied the knot recently. Reports are that it was a great day for everybody and, unsurprisingly, there was a football theme to the whole event!

Running Club

Our running/jogging/walking club sessions are on both Tuesdays and Thursdays - 5.30-6.15PM, 6.30-7.15PM or 7.30-8.15PM. There is also a session on Saturday at 9.30AM. Each session costs just €2. The sessions cater for all levels starting from beginners upwards.

St Patrick's Day Parade
