Morrison becomes Cavan coach

John Morrisson
Former Leitrim assistant manager John Morrison will join the Cavan backroom team in 2012.

The Armagh native parted company with Mickey Moran and the Ridge County at the end of last season and was not directly involved with an inter-county team this year. Morrison, who previously worked alongside Moran in Derry and Mayo and managed Antrim during the mid-1990s, has now decided to join Val Andrews and Terry Hyland in the Cavan management set-up in a coaching capacity.

Andrews and Hyland were joint-managers this year, but it was recently decided that Andrews will assume the role of manager outright, with Hyland - who managed the Cavan U21 team that reached this year's All-Ireland final - reverting to the role of selector.
