In rather unpleasant conditions last Friday evening , St Joseph's (Arva & Killeshandra) defeated Bailieboro in the Under 21 Division 2 Final on the 3G pitch.
St Joseph's opened the scoring with a pointed free from Conal Sheridan. Bailieboro equallised in the 9th minute from Michael Argue. St Joseph's then stretched their lead with points from Brian Ellis, another two from Conal Sheridan, Kevin Bouchier and Conor McGearty. Bailieboro's only other score of the half was a point from Christopher Dunne in the 25th minute.
At the half time break, St Joseph's lead 0-6 to 0-2.
Conditions deteriorated from the start of the second half, but that did not seem to affect St Joseph's who thanks to points from Conal Sheridan and a goal from Cavan Junior Player of the Year Brian Ellis took control of the game.
Bailieboro's first score of the second half was on the 19th minute from Michael Argue. They scored two more, from Jack O'Neill and Michael Argue but St Joseph's sealed their win with a goal from Cien Sweeney in the 34th minute of the second half.
