The Westmeath Under 16 Camogie panel
Leinster U16C Championship
The county U16 team started their season off on Sunday last with an away game in Mountmellick against Laois in the Leinster championship. After a very exciting and well contested game which was played in tough conditions Laois came out winners on the day. Well done to all the girls who travelled and played. Westmeath will now proceed in the shield competition. They are fixed to play Carlow on the 2nd March next.

County Board Meeting
The February meeting of the county board was held on Tuesday 12th February last. Chairwoman, Olive Leonard, appealed to clubs to submit nominations for the positions of Treasurer and Asst. Secretary to County Secretary, Mary Glynn, by email (

Trainers for U14/U15 Development Squads
There will be training course for anyone interested in helping to train the U14/U15 development squads in Haywood Community School, Portlaoise on Saturday 23rd February. Anyone interested in helping out with these squads please contact Laura Heffernan or Jemma Egan Maybury.
Skills Workshop
Following on from the successful workshop given by Damien Young recently, there are plans to run another workshop in the next month. If clubs would like any particular skill included in the workshop, please contact Development Officer Laura Heffernan as soon as possible - email

A PRO Training workshop will take place in Croke Park on Saturday 2nd March from 10.00 am to 2.30 pm (lunch is served at 1.30pm). All Club Officials but in particular PROs are encouraged to attend.
Areas covered on the day:
- The role of the PRO and how to work effectively, including presentations
- Dealing with radio & print media
- IT & Social Media
Event also includes launch of the Camogie Association Social Media Guidelines and Set-Up by President Aileen Lawlor.

Prior to making the draws for the 2013 competitions, the Chair thanked both the Fixtures Committee and the Ladies Football Board who met to agree fixture dates in order to avoid clashes of fixtures for dual players.

Registrations
Clubs are reminded that registrations should be emailed by 1st March. Registration fees should be forwarded to Mary Glynn, Cloghan, Mullingar by the same date. Registration fees are €300 per club. Clubs taking part in Féile should submit an additional €15.
