Kernan rules himself out of Dublin job

Former All-Ireland winning manager Joe Kernan has distanced himself from the rumours that he could be the next Dublin manager after Paul Caffrey's departure last weekend.
The Crossmaglen clubman has revealed that his has no intentions of managing an inter-county side as long as his four sons, Aaron, Stephen, Paul and Tony are involved in the Armagh setup.
"It's nice to be mentioned but I couldn't see myself going to another county, not with the four lads involved. There's just too much orange blood in me," admitted Kernan.
While ruling himself out of the Dubs hotseat, Kernan did admit that the position is the most attractive and challenging in the country.
"Dublin is the biggest, toughest job in Gaelic football management and the greatest challenge. It would have to light a fire in anybody. But with four sons involved in Armagh I'd have to extinguish that fire pretty quickly."
Dublin Board CEO John Costello revealed early in the week that the Board would be taking their time before making their choice, hinting a time scale of months before the National League starts next February.
