Crossmaglen await final opponents

February 20, 2007
Armagh champions, Crossmaglen Rangers are through to the AIB All-Ireland football final for the fourth time since 1997, having edged out St.Brigid's (Roscommon) in the semi-final on Sunday 18th February. However, Dr.Crokes (Kerry) and Moorefield (Kildare) must meet again, having drawn (1-9 to 0-12) last Sunday. The replay will be in McDonagh Park, Nenagh next Saturday with a 2.0 throw-in. Moorefield staged a brave revival to earn a draw last Sunday, with a point from Patrick Murray earning them a second chance. It was the second time in the current campaign that the Kildare champions have drawn. In fact, next Saturday's game will be their 7th in a lengthy campaign that started with a win over St.Patrick's of Wicklow on October 22 last. Crossmaglen are back in the final for the fourth time having previously got there in 1997-1999-2000 when they won all three. If they win this year's final they will move into second place behind Nemo Rangers (Cork) on the honours' table. Nemo have seven All-Ireland titles while Crossmaglen and St.Finbarr's (Cork) each have three titles. MOOREFIELD v DR.
