Sligo hope on O'Hara horizon
March 13, 2006
Eamon O'Hara
Some good news on the Sligo football front at last with word that Eamonn O'Hara is on the verge of a dramatic return to action.
The talismanic Tourlestrane man, who in 2002 became only the third Sligo player to receive All Star recognition, has returned to full training.
Injury-plagued O'Hara has not featured for his county since limping out of last summer's qualifier defeat of Kildare and has had to sit it out as the Yeats men made a nightmare start to their 2006 national football league campaign.
Pointless Sligo are floundering at the foot of Division 2B after four successive defeats and, with the prospect of promotion long since vaporized, the return of their star midfielder could kickstart their season.
Barring further setbacks, O'Hara should be back to full strength for the championship. However, Sligo people would love to see their swashbuckling general back in the starting XV to steady the ship and provide some stability before then.
