Rena Buckley is a busy woman between winning an All-Ireland camogie title and aiming for a double with the Cork footballers. The 18-year-old fells that success in either sport helps you improve at the other. Never before in the history of the GAA has a player won a camogie and football All-Ireland in the same year. Following their win over Tipperary two weeks ago, five Cork ladies have the chance to create history and Buckley is one of those. The Donoughmore star feels that the stick bearers chances of success were boosted following the footballers qualification for the All-Ireland final following a gripping semi-final against Mayo. "We were on such a high after it (the Mayo win)," said Buckley. "If we'd lost and had to pick ourselves up for the final, that would have been terrible, but the football win definitely gave inspiration to the camogie team." With regards to combining the two sports, Buckley feels that it is easier to come back to football after playing camogie. "You have to have your eye in for hurling and you have to be playing the whole time to do that. With football, you can be training with the camogie team the whole week before and when you come back, sometimes you wouldn't even notice the difference."
