Nolan leaves Lilywhites

Padraig Nolan
Kildare senior football manager Padraig Nolan has resigned from his position after three years in charge.
Nolan saw his side hammered by Laois in the Leinster semi-final and subsequently lost to Sligo in the qualifiers. However, the Kildare native took his time in deciding whether to stay with the Lilywhites or leave.
A win over Wicklow in the first round of the Leinster championship was followed by an impressive display against 2004 champions Westmeath, but Kildare could not build on those results.
It is Nolan's second three-year spell at inter county management following a spell with Offaly and he feels as if now is the time to move on.
"I have had three years with the Kildare team and before that I had three years with Offaly. It's time to move on now and someone else with fresh ideas will come in to take over," said Nolan.
"I spoke to the county board chairman and everything is amicable. I have just decided that it's time to move on."
