Aisake O hAilpin has been formally invited to train with Australian Rules club Carlton Blues. The youngest of the O hAilpin clan is set to join his brother Setanta and the rest of the Carlton players for pre-season training in Melbourne next week. If Aisake impresses Carlton coach Denis Pagan, he could be a target for the December 14 international deadline as a rookie. Aisake and Setanta were notable absentees from the Na Piarsaigh team which lost to Toomevara in the Munster club hurling semi-final last Sunday and the absence of Aisake led to intense speculation that he was planning to switch codes. But sources in Cork insist that the hugely promising 19-year-old is on holiday and will not be undertaking a trial with Carlton. Tweet
