Hurling All Stars for 2000
December 01, 2000
The All Star Awards mark the end of the inter-county season, or at least they used to. The lucky 15 hurling winners were announced with the usual amount of hyperbola and overexcitement. We are well used to it at this stage!
A group of footballers and hurlers, their partners, a list of dignified gentries, plus assorted ligers in a hotel function room. It can mean only one thing - All Star presentation night. The football award winners were announced on Thursday morning while we were made to wait for the hurling winners - ooh, the tension was unbearable!
Well, the waiting is over as the following 15 were named as the Eircell All Star team for 2000.
