Darragh Corcoran has described Henry Shefflin’s appointment as Kilkenny senior hurling manager as ‘massive’.

Corcoran has played under his famous Shamrocks Ballyhale club-mate at club level and is looking forward to linking up with him again with the Cats.

"Henry coming in is massive for Kilkenny, really," he told gaa.ie at the launch of the 2026 Club Championship with Clubber.

"You've seen what he has done as a player, and I've had him with Ballyhale, and found him very good. So, I'm excited to get going."

The centre back is confident Kilkenny can bounce back after a disappointing 2026.

“You can even see in the club championship at the moment, players are putting up their hand," he added.

"It's about finding them players, and hopefully pushing on for next year. A bit of freshness next year, with Henry coming in, a new management team, hopefully we can just push on, and right a few of the wrongs from last year."
