Galway footballer Sean Fitzgerald has been unveiled as a contestant on the new season of Love Island.
It comes after Fitzgerald recently stepped away from Padraic Joyce’s squad to take part in the hit ITV dating show, which will broadcast from June 1. The 25-year-old school teacher has a large following on TikTok and Instagram, and lined out at full back in Galway’s Connacht SFC semi-final win over Leitrim last month.
However, he wasn’t included in the panel for the Connacht SFC final defeat to Roscommon or for last Saturday’s All-Ireland SFC Round 1 win over Kildare. The Bearna clubman won an All-Ireland U20FC medal in 2020 before graduating to the Galway senior football panel two years later.
The show will be filmed in Majorca over the coming weeks.
