Peter Queally was remaining tight-lipped about his future as Waterford hurling manager after his two-year term ended with yesterday's defeat to Limerick.
“I’ll have to go away and think about it," he told reporters after the Deise bowed out of the Munster SHC.
"I had a two-year term. I’ll have to talk to my family and talk to the county board and see what’s best for Waterford going forward.”
Waterford didn't go down without a fight and an upset looked to be on the cards at the TUS Gaelic Grounds until two goals from Peter Casey and Gearoid Hegarty late on turned the tide in Limerick's favour.
"I'm so proud of the lads and the effort they put in. You can’t fault them. Every day they go out, they just give it everything.
"Things mightn’t be going their way and they might have a few setbacks but they just keep going. Our heads were in a bit of a spin in the first 10 minutes, Limerick were at their awesome best early on, getting scores from every angle. Their accuracy was spot on.
"The lads got to grips with it then and converted a lot of half-chances; their shooting accuracy was very good. Probably didn’t have enough of a lead, the period just before half-time when we were 15-10 up and conceded five killed us a bit. Having said that, in the first 25 minutes of the second half the lads were outstanding.
"But once the two goals went in, it was curtains then.”
