Former Dublin star Brian Fenton feels that Ger Brennan’s side will need to “throw caution to the wind” tomorrow evening when they take on Louth in the Leinster SFC semi-finals.

After having squeezed past Wicklow last time out, the Dubs are looking for an improved display to try and dethrone Louth of their provincial title this weekend and return to the Delaney Cup decider for the first time in two years.

Speaking on the RTE GAA Podcast this week, Fenton said he feels that the battle around the centre of the field will be a crucial factor in Portlaoise.

"Louth have some beasts in that midfield area. Wicklow went long with a lot of kick-outs and Dublin struggled, so I think Louth will target that,” said the eight-time All-Ireland winner.

"Peadar Ó Cofaigh Byrne is very important in that area. If we can get Ciarán Kilkenny back on the pitch, a big bulk of a man who will compete as well.

"Dublin need to throw off the shackles this weekend, show a bit of madness, show fight and aggression and bring the game to Louth.

"Louth will want to play a controlled, defensive-based game, get you into alleys and turn you over and get momentum that way. If Dublin throw caution to the wind here and go at it, I think there will be a lot to be said for it."
