Carlow recorded their fourth consecutive win in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League by seeing off winless Waterford (1-26 to 0-15) at Netwatch Cullen Park this evening.
The hosts keep things to script from the start, running up a 0-9 to 0-4 lead by the time Sean Murphy fired in the game’s only goal in the 24th minute.
Colm Hulton added a two-pointer afterwards that helped the Barrowsiders take in a 1-14 to 0-8 lead at the break, with Alan Dunwoody and Stephen Curry grabbing early second-half scores to trim Waterford’s deficit.
Conor Crowley and Conor Doyle (two-point free) got Carlow motoring again for the second-half and frees from Chris Blake along with the scores of Crowley, Hulton, Aaro Amond and Paddy McDonnell would see them safely over the line to four league wins on the trot.
Tomorrow afternoon sees the other fourth round Division games down for decision, with Wicklow hosting London in the early throw-in (1pm) before Leitrim welcome Antrim and Tipperary visit Longford at 2pm.
