This afternoon’s postponed Dr McKenna Cup first round clash between Donegal and Derry will not be re-fixed.

The two sides had been set for their first outing of 2026 at O’Donnell Park today (Sunday), but the freezing conditions saw the game called off by Ulster GAA this morning in the interest of safety for players, officials and supporters travelling to the Letterkenny ground.

Since then, the provincial body has confirmed that there will be no re-fixture for the game as a result of the tight schedule for games at this point in time.

It means that both teams have been granted a point apiece, with Derry’s next game in the pre-season competition being at home to Antrim on Wednesday night (7pm) while Donegal will travel to Cargin to take on the Saffrons on Sunday afternoon (1.30pm).
