Ballyboden St Enda’s triumphed to their fifth Dublin senior football championship title by seeing off Na Fianna on a 1-16 to 1-12 scoreline at a soaking wet Parnell Park tonight.

Céin Darcy’s goal in the 52nd minute went a long way towards sealing on what was Boden’s first county SFC title since 2019, with Keelan Sexton’s rebounded penalty in injury-time only proving consolation for their Glasnevin counterparts.

Na Fianna held a 0-7 to 0-3 lead after the opening 20 minutes of this decider, but the scores of Colm Basquel and Daire Sweeney helped Eamonn O’Reilly’s men close the gap by half-time (0-7 to 0-7).

Alex Gavin fired over the first point of the restart for the victors and they’d be three to the good come the 47th minute when shot over inside the ‘D’.

Five minutes later, disaster struck for Na Fianna when Ryan O’Dwyer slipped Darcy through and he sent a low finish to the net that put seven between the sides.

Tom Gray’s side fought to the finish, earning a penalty which Sexton saw saved before the Clare man grabbed the rebound and fired to the net.

However, it’d be too little, too late as ‘Boden clinched their first SFC crown in six years in the capital.
