Jack O’Connor is to continue as Kerry senior football manager until the end of 2027.

The Dromid Pearses clubman, along with his backroom team, will be handed a two-year extension at tonight’s county board meeting. O’Connor hinted at stepping down after delivering his fifth All-Ireland SFC title to the Kingdom last month, but he is now set to stay and attempt to emulate Jim Gavin, who won the Sam Maguire Cup six times as Dublin manager.

Another incentive for O’Connor is to win back-to-back All-Irelands for the first time, having so far failed to do so during his three separate spells in charge.
