Offaly GAA has rescheduled some of its club hurling championship fixtures to avoid a clash with Sunday week’s Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie Championship final between the Faithful County and Kerry.

In a move that has been widely welcomed, the county board has brought forward nine hurling ties to the Friday and the Saturday. This includes the SHC Group 1 encounter between Coolderry and Birr, which will now take place in Shinrone on the Friday evening, and the SHC ‘B’ clash between Coolderry and Carrig & Riverstown, which has been rearranged for Shinrone on the Saturday.

"Offaly GAA are delighted to announce that the Offaly GAA Competitions Control Committee has refixed all adult and underage games scheduled for Sunday, 10th August," a county board statement read.

"This decision was made to allow as many supporters as possible the opportunity to travel to Croke Park and cheer on the Offaly Intermediate Camogie team in their All-Ireland Final.

"The county is proud of the girls' achievements and is encouraging a strong show of support on this special day for the Faithful.

"Offaly GAA wishes the team the very best of luck and we look forward to a memorable and hopefully a successful day at headquarters."
