Cork and Tipperary are set to meet each other in an All-Ireland senior hurling championship final for the first time ever following the completion of this weekend’s semi-finals at Croke Park.
Oisin O’Donoghue’s remarkable late goal proved the difference as Tipp edged out Kilkenny in a thriller at headquarters by 4-21 to 0-30 to book their place back in the All-Ireland decider for the first time in six years.
Yesterday saw the Rebels returning to the same final stage they lost out to Clare on 12 months ago by hammering Dublin on a 7-26 to 2-21 scoreline, with Alan Connolly (3), Brian Hayes (2) and Tim O’Mahony (2) netting their goals in the 20-point rout.
It means that Croker will be a sea of blue and red a fortnight from today when the two old rivals battle it out as the 2025 race for the Liam MacCarthy Cup comes to its conclusion on July 20th.
