Tony McEntee has stepped down as Sligo senior football manager following today’s Tailteann Cup quarter-final defeat to Fermanagh.
The Yeats men fell two points short against the Ernesiders at Brewster Park, where it finished 0-21 to 1-16, marking McEntee’s last game in charge.
The Armagh man was at the helm in Sligo for the past five seasons and last September saw him agreeing to a two-year extension with the team.
However, Sligo county board have confirmed this evening that McEntee has stepped down from his post, with chairman Declan Rouse thanking him for his commitment and contribution.
