Tyrone senior football manager Malachy O’Rourke has called U20 midfield star Conor O’Neill into his squad.

The Irish News reports that O’Neill has been brought into the Red Hands’ set-up ahead of this Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC third round showdown against Cavan in Enniskillen (4pm).

He was one of the stand-out players in his county’s most recent All-Ireland U20 championship success, marking a third Clarke Cup success for Tyrone in four years, with the Donaghmore clubman’s marauding runs from the centre of the field often wreaking havoc against the opposition’s defence.

O’Neill joins U20 team mate Eoin McElholm in O’Rourke’s senior squad, with Coalisland midfielder Ruairi McHugh, who won an All-Ireland U20 crown with the Red Hands in 2022, also understood to have been brought into the panel recently.
