Kilkenny made it two wins from two in the Leinster senior hurling championship after coming away from Corrigan Park with a 2-30 to 2-12 victory over Davy Fitzgerald’s Antrim side this afternoon.
Eoin Cody’s goal in the fourth minute of injury-time put an exclamation point on the holders’ win after they’d trailed by a point at half-time.
Goals from James McNaughton and Keelan Molloy helped the Saffrons to edge a surprise 2-8 to 0-13 lead at the interval, but the Cats would eventually cut loose in the second-half after a hat-trick of Cody points were backed up by scores from Billy Ryan and Cian Kenny.
Martin Keoghan’s goal in the 50th minute made it 1-20 to 2-11 in favour of Derek Lyng’s men and their lead would be out to eight after white flags were raised by Tommy Walsh, Stephen Donnelly and Kenny.
Kilkenny stretched their advantage into double figures ahead of a McNaughton free for the Ulster side in injury-time being erased by Cody’s goal.
